Distribution Services Supervisor (6410)
The Distribution Services Supervisor oversees the operations of the Central Receiving and Surplus Property Departments at SIUE. The Supervisor directs the receipt, unpacking, storage and delivery of materials shipped to the all campuses of SIUE. He or she will ensure the filing and reporting of proper paperwork for these procedures, including review for export control, hazardous materials, refrigerated items, live animals, etc.
The Distribution Services Supervisor also manages the processing inbound and outbound surplus property for disposition or reuse and documentation of same. The Supervisor will make final decisions to determine if items are kept at here at SIUE to be re-purposed to the SIUE campus community, offered to local school districts, sent to Surplus Property in Springfield or sent to the proper recycling centers. Additionally, the Supervisor organizes the loading and unloading shipments with common carriers and vendors, the loading of the Central Receiving truck, and coordinates and supervises delivery and pick-up services, including scheduling of work assignments and schedules for both departments.
