Job Description
Embedded Software Engineer

Position Summary: The candidate will support the design and development of embedded firmware of Temperature Control equipment with specific responsibilities including maintenance, bug fixes, and enhancements for existing products as well as a supporting role for new product development.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Embedded firmware programming using C and PC based development tools
  • Ensures firmware development processes are followed during development
  • Performs engineering analysis of design concepts
  • Proactively ensures efficient use of time and resources
  • Exercises informed/educated judgment for designed solutions
  • Proactively communicates with design team members regarding deliverables, critical-path problems, clarification of ideas and concepts
  • Participates in design reviews
  • Participates in Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving initiatives
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance to design specifications
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and support all PPI, Keys and Lean projects

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Experience with embedded programming development tools a plus
  • The ability to manage project tasks and follow development processes and schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to author technical reports and present to varied audiences
  • Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Sense of ownership & urgency with projects and work assignments
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Ability to work in a lab environment
  • Ability to travel as required,
