Lead Credit Risk Officer - Minimum Credit Decision

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer to lead initiatives, develop direction, and provide oversight to managers and team members across Home Lending Risk (HLR). The right candidate needs to be a proactive and analytical thinker who understands operational design. This position will be a member of the Governance function..

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the operational design and ongoing execution of the Minimum Credit Decisioner (MCD) control function within HLR.  Execute the MCD monitoring logic which covers Nonagency, Retail Agency, Retail FHA, Retail USDA, Retail VA, and Correspondent.  Lead effort to optimize and standardize the legacy processes.
  • Lead effort to implement routines and SLAs with key business partners to assess monthly MCD reporting and findings.  This includes execution, research on findings, report preparation, and communication of results.  Lead the aggregation and communication of the monthly MCD reporting to leadership.
  • Develop and execute operation controls on the MCD processes to confirm the completeness and accuracy of results.
  • Elevate MCD logic into a version control and collaboration structure (ex. GitHub).
  • Design and implement a process for conducting change analysis to provide support for modifications to logic.  Partner with internal change management agents.
  • Develop comprehensive MCD documentation including procedures and materials to support team education, controls, and audit engagement.  Develop process maps outlining end-to-end operation including risk points and corresponding controls
  • Support RCSA and BPM implementation and governance.  Conduct governance assessments of enterprise policies
  • Support standard change management for key processes across HLR
  • Develop and maintain business partner relationships with all functional areas within HLR to ensure broad understanding of the business and objectives.
  • Collaborate with partners across Consumer Lending Risk.  Engage in independent risk assessment when partnering across groups.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of SAS experience
