Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist in Corporate Risk as part of the Auto Lending Business Aligned Compliance (BACO) Team. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

The Auto Lending Business Aligned Compliance (BACO) team within Consumer Lending Compliance is responsible for providing compliance support and oversight for all aspects of the auto lending lifecycle. The goal of the Auto Compliance team is to ensure that the business understands the laws, regulations, rules and policies inherent in its business and have established controls to promote compliance. The Senior Compliance Specialist will likely be assigned as a subject matter specialist for certain auto lending regulations, specifically relating to auto collections and recovery, as well as charged with overseeing certain aspects of the business' implementation of the Compliance Program Policy and the Auto lending Compliance team's implementation of the Compliance Program Policy. With respect to the compliance program work, this individual may be asked to undertake or lead the Auto Compliance team's work with one or more of the elements of the compliance program, which could include compliance risk assessments, initiative management, implementation of policies and standards, compliance issue management, metrics and reporting.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide consulting and advisory services to the Auto Lending businesses on matters involving Third Party Compliance Risk Management, Legal and Regulatory changes, and other consumer banking regulations
  • Establish, implement and maintain risk standards and programs to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory and Corporate Policy requirements
  • Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of risk-based compliance programs
  • Develop and oversee standards and provide compliance risk expertise
  • Provide subject matter expertise with comprehensive knowledge of business and functional area
  • Provide compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate risk for a business line or functional area
  • Monitor reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management
  • Provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change
  • Consult for projects and initiatives with moderate risk for a business line
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change
  • Report findings and make recommendations to management appropriate committees
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Work with complex business units, rules and regulations on moderate risk compliance matters
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in Third Party Risk Management
  • An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation or working toward getting the CRCM
  • Experience interpreting and applying state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements specific to consumer/auto lending
  • Experience developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function
  • Knowledge and understanding of auto lending business regulations and compliance
  • Paralegal degree, certification or equivalent education
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to review and monitor issues and corrective actions relating to regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships and coordinating with stakeholders to achieve goals
