Develop and manage a new employee relations function within Guardant Health People team. Drive the strategy to positively impact employee engagement and performance to become an employer of choice.
Counsel employees regarding a wide range of issues and complaints, including employees in crisis. Protect sensitive information to the fullest extent possible.
Ensure employee concerns are recognized and addressed, by conducting workplace investigations end-to-end, which includes creating an investigation plan, identifying, and understanding issues, conducting interviews, analyzing information preparing a comprehensive investigation report with conclusions and course of action to facilitate resolution of complaint.
Consult, guide and train HRBPs and managers on resolution of employee issues and complaints, in a manner consistent with culture and legal parameters.
Investigate complaints raised through external government agencies e.g., EEOC, partnering with internal and external legal counsel to respond.
Influence positive change by being proactive in addressing issues.
Utilize and analyze ER data/metrics for themes, trends and root causes.
Serve as the subject matter expert on employment laws and appropriately applies information to employee relation matters.
Effectively partner with various functional leaders and People team members.
Proven success in resolving employee related issues, as well as interpreting policies and regulations. Strong issue resolution skills with ability to negotiate and resolve complex matters after reviewing the facts, while maintaining an objective and fair solutions-oriented approach.
Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable employment laws, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of California laws is a must-have.
Experience conducting investigations, including interview methods, techniques, and data analysis reporting
Ability to gather, analyze and synthesize key insights gleaned from investigation data
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
