Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. .

What you'll get to do:
The qualified applicant will have a working knowledge and understanding of industrial engineering, production scheduling, capacity, and methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Possess knowledge and understanding of master production scheduling, material requirements planning, and manufacturing business systems. An understanding of the SAP MRP system and how scheduling and capacity works within the system is a plus.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll bring these qualifications:
  • Bachelors in STEM related technical field and 5 years of experience; 3 years of experience with a Masters; 0 Years with PhD
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start.
  • Experience with industrial engineering, production scheduling, metrics, capacity, and methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time .
These qualifications would be nice to have:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • I ntermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficient in the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc).
  • Experience with project and manufacturing schedules.
  • Understanding of schedule waterfall build with setbacks to independent demands.
  • Understanding of labor standard development and work measurement.
  • Factory simulation modeling and facility layout experience
  • Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments).
  • Work with functional team to understand scheduling requirements at implementation site.
  • Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Experience in systems test or having worked on a test program.
  • Possess strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and self-starter.
  • Ability to present (PowerPoint, speaking in front of upper management, technical presentations vs overviews).
  • Ability to visualize and layout routings (Flow chart, Excel, etc).

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
