Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Field Engineer. This position will be located in Promontory, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:
The candidate will perform logistics related analysis, maintenance planning and hands on maintenance process of the GBSD platform to test launch, deploy system and determine technical data requirements for test/operation/maintenance activities.
  • Perform electronic, mechanical, and electrical system install, repair and troubleshooting. Install, inspect, electrically connect, troubleshoot, and repair missile/LF components and test equipment.
  • Remove, install, transport, ship and receive the GBSD missile downstages.
  • Remove, install and transport GBSD aerospace vehicle equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on/install GBSD umbilical cables, suspension system, and launcher closure system. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hoists, mechanical support equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic components, weapon system components, support equipment, and special purpose vehicles.
  • Install, Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair weapon system environmental control systems, power systems, electrical systems, support equipment, test equipment, and special purpose vehicles.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree with 5+ years' experience or 3 years' experience with a Master's degree; or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in an integration, production, manufacturing or test environment or like type work in a military setting
  • Understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
These Qualifications are Nice to Have:
  • 6+ years of Minuteman Missile Maintenance
  • Experience in 2M0X1 (EMT) or 2M0X2 (MMT/MHT) or 2M0X3 (FMT) USAF career fields
  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 5 years.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • One (1) year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL
Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
