About this role:

We are seeking a Systems Operations Engineer in Technology as part of the Commercial, Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) in the Central Alerting Response Team (CART). As a member of this technology team, you will be providing level 1 technical monitoring and resolution support across critical business applications in a follow-the-sun model. The team is being extended to cover critical systems 7 days a week, ensuring that planned maintenance work is completed successfully and that the systems are continuously available for normal operation.

You will have the opportunity to work with various products such as Oracle, Linux, MQ, load balancers, Ansible, Grafana, Splunk, and Service Now. We use industry-recognized monitoring and automation tools such as ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, Big Panda, Prometheus, etc.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale applications, systems, databases, or other technical products and services

  • Identify opportunity for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans

  • Review and analyze technical queries to extract data, create standard databases, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supporting low to medium risk technical deliverables

  • Present recommendations for resolving complex technical queries

  • Exercise some independent judgment to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards

  • Work as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes

  • Provide information related to supported system area to functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders, including internal customers

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 1+ years of ITIL experience

  • 1+ years of Service Now experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of ITRS Geneos

  • Knowledge and understanding of technology application support: production and nonproduction environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations:

  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule in accordance to the time zone for the market you are supporting

  • Ability to work on call as assigned
