Senior Quantitative Solutions Engineering Specialist in Commercial Credit Decision Modeling

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Quantitative Solutions Engineering Specialist...


In this role, you will:

  • Support complex initiatives related to creating and maintaining analytic data infrastructure and model implementation engines 
  • Interact with business, regulatory, and technical partners to determine business requirements, data specifications, and other pertinent functionalities for the development and maintenance of integrated analytic data mart
  • Implement ETL jobs, statistical model scoring, and business rules processing in a timely manner
  • Perform complex business analyses, process engineering, regression testing and data retrofitting, reporting, metadata management, technical writing,  data documentation, and compliances monitoring
  • Develop and support Oracle and SAS data marts that are critical to analytic functions such as credit origination, portfolio management, and MIS reporting.
  • Support model recalibration and enhance the model implementation engines on various platforms such as SAS, Oracle, Teradata, and JAVA.
  • Work across functional groups (e.g. data centers, enterprise technology groups etc.) to ensure production level deliverables of credit scores and credit decisions and/or recommendations.
  • Perform routine procedures to monitor and ensure excellent standards of data integrity, quality assurance, compliance, and data security, to meet or exceed bank policy requirements.
  • Conduct data research and portfolio/model analytics using strong programming skills. 
  • Create detailed model deployment documentation in line with internal guidelines/standards 
  • Identify opportunities and deliver process improvements, standardization, rationalization and automations.


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Quantitative Solutions Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge in business workflow and rules management products
  • JAVA, Object-Oriented Design, and Web Development skills
  • Prior experience in Automated Financial system (AFS), CRM platforms, and Financial Spreading's tools such as Optimist
  • Familiarity with Business and Personal Credit Bureau data (e.g. D&B and Experian)
  • 4+ years of advanced, combined programming expertise in SAS, Python, Oracle PL/SQL, ETL, ER Modeling, and database design
  • Advanced skills in SQL Server, Oracle or Teradata
  • Proficient in UNIX and Windows environments
  • Degree in Statistics, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or similar quantitative subjects
  • Hands-on data-centric problem solver and quick learner with strong attention to details and proven experience in handling analytic or data research projects from end to end
  • Experience determining root cause analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues or change management processes
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill and basic technical project management experience
  • Strong ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional groups
