Location/Division Specific Information An opportunity exists for a Senior Manager, Global Market Development in the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position offers the right candidate a key position on the leadership team of the Laboratory Analytical Reagents business unit (LAR) and will provide opportunities for career development and personal growth. This global position can be based on site in Paramus, NJ, Pittsburgh, PA, Boston, MA and can be partially or wholly remote within the eastern time zone of the United States or in the United Kingdom. The position will report to the VP/GM of the LAR business unit.

How will you make an impact: As a member of the LAR core leadership team, you will help formulate, develop and implement our five-year vision to double in size. Specifically, you will understand customer and market needs and translate them into compelling product solutions and proposals. You will also develop and deploy detailed multi-channel global market introduction campaigns including product branding, product positioning and market awareness. You will showcase your expertise by developing a comprehensive understanding of changing dynamics in target market segments, appropriately positioning our global chemical products and driving execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy. You will lead a small team and will collaborate with site leaders, functional leaders and marketing colleagues, driving excellent coordination and communication, to ensure execution of product development roadmaps that meet customer needs.
A Day in the Life
Build, lead and develop strategic marketing team of LAR business unit (target team of 1-3 colleagues), working with divisional Marketing (responsible to tactically implement) to deliver long-term growth targets.
Understand global and regional markets, leverage Voice of Customer and develop practical insights. Ensure unfulfilled customer needs are incorporated in new business development initiatives.
Support development of long-term strategic plan to deliver sustained profitable growth and drive strategic revenue growth projects and key business processes.
Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Product Management and R&D teams to build increased customer value across shared workflows. Engage regularly to communicate business strategy and priorities, specifically supporting pricing, training, customer service and technical support.
Handle marketing budgets and planning process and optimize promotional campaigns to achieve high return on investment. Partner with divisional Marketing to improve existing collateral and web design, development & experience to improve customer experience.
Key to Success Education
Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry and/or degree in Business Marketing (MBA preferred)
Highly developed commercial eye for business with strong reasoning capability and good judgment.
Ability to recognize growth opportunities and capitalize on them.
7+ years of work experience in Marketing, business development, strategy deployment or related functions (life science experience is valued).
