HBCUCONNECT.COM LAUNCHES 2nd ANNUAL HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY (HBCU) ALUMNI CRUISE
Columbus, OH (BlackNews.com) – HBCUConnect, the mega-site related to Historically Black Colleges and Universities gears up to promote their second-annual HBCUConnect Alumni Cruise. According to attendees, the 2005 event was an absolute success on many levels by helping to raise scholarships for students at HBCUs, re-connecting alumni, raising the awareness of our nation’s Black Colleges and Universities and also helping to attract top-notch students to these schools.
"For us, it’s all about spreading the awareness of our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities", said William Moss, founder and CEO of HBCUConnect.com who created the alumni website and whose web destination is among the most highly trafficked African American sites on the internet, with more than 300,000 alumni and current HBCU student-members. "This cruise is our way of ensuring that another generation of students will get a chance to attend a Black College, just as we did”.
Every year, HBCU Connect raises money for students at historically black colleges and universities and helps raise the awareness of HBCUs via events, partnerships and the work of The HBCU Foundation. Among the schools who participated in the 2005 cruise were Clark Atlanta, University, Atlanta, GA; Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC; South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, SC; Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA; Spelman College, Atlanta, GA; Langston University, Langston, OK; Lincoln University, Lincoln U., PA; Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL; and many others.

(For more information on how you can help raise funds for HBCU students and alumni associations, you can visit www.HBCUCruise.com)
The seven-day cruise will set sail November 11th - 18th 2006 and is expected to sell out for the 2nd time. Offers VP of Business Development, Daniel Moss: “Our 2006 event will absolutely be ‘next level’ and will be ‘food for the soul’ with lively entertainment, seminars and surprises for everyone!” Throughout the year, HBCUConnect sponsors and partners with several entities promoting Black Colleges, their related news and events and is continually looking to develop out-of-the-box partnerships with interested agencies and organizations. Via HBCUConnect.com and HBCUCareerCenter.com, HBCU Connect maintains relationships with more than 2000 of our nation’s most respected and successful companies looking to hire expressly HBCU talent for internships and career opportunities.
