Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund (“Everytown for Gun Safety”) is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country. Everytown for Gun Safety’s Community Safety Initiatives (CSI) team, focuses on scaling promising community-based violence intervention strategies, and is seeking a Program Manager to help support the work of community-based violence intervention programs nationwide. Since 2019, Everytown has supported 70 organizations in 42 cities. Recently, CSI launched the Everytown Community Safety Fund to sustain and further expand our support over the next few years. The Program Manager will be a critical member of the CSI team and responsible for the development and administration of Everytown Community Safety Fund grant offerings and awareness materials, grant application development and analysis, grant programming, data survey development and analysis, work product development, grantee engagement, cross-departmental collaborations, and external engagement with national subject matter experts, elected officials and advisors. The Program Manager reports to the Senior Director of Community Safety Initiatives.
Candidates should be self-starters with a proven track record of grant management and/or administration, have an interest in community safety and be familiar with emerging trends in violence prevention strategy and relevant community dynamics. This position is based in New York City and will require travel (when it is safe to do so).
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a growing network of community-based violence intervention programs.
Develop grant offerings, grant applications, data surveys and other public-facing materials.
Coordinate the review of grant applications and integration of staff, volunteers and external partners.
Develop insight and impact reports for internal and external audiences to raise awareness and inform strategy.
Direct engagement with grantees, volunteers, staff, advisory board members and elected officials to inform grant development and grantee selection.
Track and monitor budget, grant agreements, vendor agreements, grant disbursements and engagement with grantees, advisory board members, community partners and elected officials.
Conduct research and analysis of prospective grantees, grant proposals, vendors and strategy.
Lead and coordinate convenings and capacity building workshops of grantees with staff, volunteers and external partners.
Evaluate and enhance grant programs and related strategies.
Coordinate with communications and digital teams to further amplify and resource grantees.
Coordinate periodic communications with grantees, staff and advisors.
Coordinate with prospective grantees for receipt of financial documents.
Support the legal team’s engagement with grantees and vendors to ensure execution of contracts, extensions and amendments.
Manage grant management platform and direct data entry.

5+ years of work experience in city or state government, a non-profit or foundation, including 2+ years in grant management and/or administration
Prior experience administering grants and/or capacity building programs
Prior experience using grant management platforms, a plus
Prior experience evaluating grant applications and proposed budgets
Prior experience developing metrics and measuring program and grantee performance
Demonstrated experience producing written products for non-technical audiences using clear, accessible language
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop problem-solving strategies and adapt those strategies as needed
Proven track record facilitating engagement, managing partnerships and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including community-based organizations, advocates and community members
Exceptional project management, written, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience presenting at conferences and events.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to carefully vet public-facing materials.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
Ability to take initiative and manage projects assigned through completion with minimal supervision.
