Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director, Data Science Leader within Corporate Technology in New Brunswick NJ.

We are seeking Data Science Inspiring Leader will work at the intersection of business & technology to implement data strategies and technology solutions to deliver expected business outcomes. The candidate should strive to uncover valuable and business insights by combining experience in data, PhD training in machine learning, and business savvy. The leader will establish Data Science strategy and will be responsible for Business Process Reengineering, Data Analytics, with hands-on experience in analyzing data from different industries.

This role is part of Corporate Business Technology organization. We provide platforms, products, solutions and support to all Corporate JNJ functions such as Global Finance, Procurement, HR, Global Services, Health Care Compliance & Privacy, Legal, Facilities and other.

We are looking for a candidate who will partner with the business users and technology teams to connect relevant enterprise and external data sources and will apply innovative technologies to reveal insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in development of strategies to demonstrate insights to drive impactful decisions and outcomes in support of business priorities
  • Lead the incubations and ongoing assessment of the organizational needs for insights and work with all key partners to develop strategic directions, goals, priorities to make data-driven decisions.
  • Champion and demonstrate artificial intelligence to drive insights generation process.
  • Scan the internal and external environments for opportunities to recommend new technologies to transform the organizations
  • Provide organizational change leadership in the adoption of emerging artificial intelligence capabilities which will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the insight’s generation process.
  • Partner strategically with corporate functions data science leaders to develop innovative capabilities through advance analytics, machine learning, text analytics and other methods to analyze and translate diverse sets of data and unstructured information into concrete actionable insights.
  • Accountable for designing and implementing an operational framework for the efficient and effective collection of data and generation of insights across functions.
  • Partner with functional leaders to develop insight strategies including the assessment of needs of the partners within the organization, identification of the data sources required, and management of the development projects of new solutions and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Data Science teams to align and demonstrate current and future insight capabilities and infrastructure.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training initiatives for the efficient and effective collection of data/VOC, analyzing of data and synthesis of diverse data into concrete insights.
  • Provide leadership and direction in proper data capture, organization, maintenance, and governance practices to ensure the quality of the data is sufficient to meet the needs of the insight solutions and capabilities.
  • Advise and be responsible for a team of insights Data Mgmt.. and data Science associates who will operationally support the functions in the collection of data, analysis of data and generation of insights.
  • Influence the modernization of the insight solutions and capabilities to facilitate the ability for analysis of data not only across functions, but across regions and countries.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years industry related experience with master’s degree OR PhD with minimum 6 years of experience is required.
  • Industry related experience including quantitative analysis related fields applying analytics and insights for business decisions is required.
  • Experience and understanding of artificial intelligence technologies is required.
  • People management experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools as well as basic understanding of databases and data entry practices is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of innovative technologies to collect, process, and disseminate knowledge and insights is required.
  • Ability to communicate complicated analytical material in a concise and compelling manner
  • Ability to manage projects and operate in a complex environment is required.
  • Experience in all phases of an established SDLC and/or AGILE methodologies
  • Experience applying concepts of Agile solutioning to rapidly deliver value through user design, prototyping, Minimal Viable Product & continuous improvement.
  • Experience with using statistical tools and strong knowledge with statistical probabilistic modeling and machine learning techniques such as regression, tree-based methods (Random Forest), support vector machine etc.
  • Experience with building, running, and maintaining Data Science models.
  • Expert in at least two programming language such as Python, R, C#, Java, C++.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
