Job Description
Minority Male & Low-Income Program Coordinator
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This position works with both Minority Males & Low-Income Students, and fulfills specific Title III grant objectives, including the implementation of co-curricular activities that promote and support student learning and engagement, utilization of data to monitor and assist student academic planning, and development of programs that strengthen the student retention and completion.

The Program Coordinator will provide support to both Minority Males & Low-Income Students, and will develop retention based, co-curricular activities that promote student learning and engagement designed to (a) build community and reduce student isolation, (b) engage and inspire learning and personal growth and (c) provide programs based on researched best practices and holistic support for students.

This position is grant funded, with funding through September 30, 2025.

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.

1. Coordinate day to day implementation of specific project activities, including student interventions, coordination of marketing efforts, and data recording relevant to the specific activity.
2. Support activity leaders in implementing project tasks, based upon projected timelines.
3. Advise activity leaders on needs of relevant student groups.
4. Support students in coordination with relevant on campus offices.
5. Assist with the collection, analysis, and conversion of data related to Title III grant operations and with evaluations for grant funded operations.
6. Serve as Lead Advisor for Minority Male students and lead for Low Income student initiatives. Develop retention based, co-curricular activities to support these students.
7. Support a club designed to engage our Minority Male students.
8. Design and lead programs to support Minority Males & Low-Income Students, including but not limited to Peer Mentoring and Summer Bridge programs.
9. Design and facilitate training for college staff and faculty on topics that will improve overall service to students within the assigned cohort, based on information gathered from researched best practices, training, and direct experience with cohort members.
10. Maintain records of students served and services provided. Maintain essential records and files and assist in maintaining all EM/SS self-service forms and web content.
11. Utilize strong organizational, communication, and management skills to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
12. Assist with front line services for walk in coverage as well as responding to phone, email, or social media inquiries from students and college personnel utilizing a demonstrated knowledge of college policy, processes, and procedures related to EM and SS departments, as needed and appropriate to the students served by the grant.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education Required:
Bachelorís degree required in psychology, student affairs/higher education, or human services; Masterís degree in similar areas preferred.

Experience Required:
Experience in supporting students in a higher education setting required.
