eComm Marketplace Analyst

About the Opportunity

As a direct report to the Marketplace Manager, the Marketplace Analyst will be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of multiple marketplace channels (may include: Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc.). In this role, you will be responsible for helping to drive profitable sales, maintaining optimal performance metrics, and optimizing marketing channels within the marketplaces. In addition to helping to drive overall revenue for these channels, you will also be responsible for helping to drive profitable margins on both overall total gross profit and contribution dollars while working within the company’s and division’s overall strategy plan.


    • Daily SKU level analysis and optimization, modifying listings, prices, or packages to drive sales
    • Provide daily reporting and forecast feedback to ensure sales goals are met
    • Oversee the channel performance health metrics, including key service levels and customer satisfaction metrics
    • Assist with marketplace marketing methods and optimize for ideal cost of sale goals

Essential Competencies

You are passionate about learning ecommerce and developing subject matter expertise in managing marketplaces (e.g.: Amazon, eBay, Walmart). You already possess exceptional communication and execution skills. You are analytical with a natural curiosity to test, measure, and iterate in order to drive results. You are organized with strong project management skills and can operate with a high level of autonomy.

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly analytical, experience providing projection figures, trend analyses, and performance metrics
  • Technically proficient in Excel, especially as it relates to the use of functions for analysis and data manipulation
  • Systems thinking, being capable of understanding how systems interact with each other through end-to-end processes
  • Self-starter with a drive to succeed
  • Ability to work at a rapid pace while juggling multiple tasks and projects
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and oral
  • Natural curiosity to test, analyze, report, and learn

  • Ability to manage and execute projects; meet tight deadlines on short notice, and multi-task
  • Proficient at data entry (speed/accuracy), Microsoft Excel (functions, pivots), and independent research
  • Ability to learn new material quickly and be able to implement that knowledge right away
  • Possess strong writing and editing skills and understand appropriate grammar, spelling and punctuation rules
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, supply chain, or relevant field of study (preferred)
  • Prior job experience in eCommerce, Supply Chain analysis, or PPC search marketing (preferred)
  • Prior experience selling on eBay and/or Amazon (preferred)
  • SQL experience or related Computer Science coursework (preferred)
