ETL Developer
Description:
The Department of Information Technology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time ETL Developer to work in Coral Gables, FL.

The ETL Developer creates the scripts needed to extract, transform, clean, and move data and metadata so that it can be loaded into a data warehouse, data mart, or operational data store.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Maps source system data to data warehouse models.
Develops, tests, and troubleshoots ETL processes.
Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes. Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.
Works with business requirements analysts to identify and understand source data systems.
Analyzes informational needs through user interviews to clearly define requirements and problems.
Analyzes possible system alternatives in relationship to business need, costs, effectiveness, and information availability requirements.
Develops or assists in the creation of project time estimates.
Develops and implements application documentation and training materials. Provides post implementation support of user questions and fine tuning of processes.
Maintains communications with management and users during development or maintenance cycle.
Coordinates users' activities during application development and maintains data and system integrity.
Maintains knowledge on current computer hardware and software technology.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Monitor and troubleshoot Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) and system performance, including optimization and tuning of data loads.
Understand job and activity schedules to promote optimal performance, maximize availability and minimize data latency and data load duration.
Support BI Development Team by assisting with the development and operational support of SSAS cubes.
Provide off hours on-call support to resolve production issues within the stated service level agreement. Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
