Job Description
Senior Production Planner

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as the focal point with Senior management for all communications associated with the master schedule, on time delivery, production capacity, planning, and sales forecasts based on the master production schedule.
  • Approves customer order changes that are within the cumulative lead time of MPS (Master Planning Schedule). Hands on Planning of designated areas.
  • Align firm and forecasted requirements with manufacturing capabilities, capacity, and suppliers Create an achievable Production Plan for designated products.
  • Manage and maintain an integrated master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while leveling to manufacturing.
  • Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, and new business opportunities when applicable.
  • Works with Manufacturing, Engineering and Procurement to develop lead times and standard lot sizes.
  • Monitor actual results and revises them accordingly Communication with Production, Sales, and Supply Teams
  • Respond to and keep each informed of potential problems and opportunities related to forecasted and non-forecasted orders and recommended alternatives.
  • Inform stakeholders of Plant resource constraints and develop plans to achieve customer needs.
  • Work with Sales to derive an effective plan to achieve budgeted, on-time shipments.
  • Develop inventory targets, MIN/MAX, and Kanban to meet critical demands Develop and utilize clear reporting that can be viewed by key member in the organization to understand the production schedule, delivery dates, and risk points.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required including scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers and data.
  • Communicate with Customer Service as needed when there is risk associated with customer deliveries.
  • Maintain order start and end dates to ensure customers are receiving accurate delivery dates. Drive ever-improving results by leveraging Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
  • Supports meetings to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications.
  • Update Production Plan as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate, giving clear and concise verbal and/or written instruction. Manage Production Planners and/or Admins for respective value streams. Perform other duties as assigned.

MRO Area

  • Directs the Cell on daily priorities in order to meet customer requirements. This includes all aspects of the business from machining to assembly and test.
  • Communicate with MRO Coordinators when there is a risk associated with customer deliveries.
  • Arrange for delivery, receipt, and replenishment of MRO inventory including physical restocking, and updating SAP of incoming parts from USN1 and external vendors in order to expedite flow of materials to meet PSA and customer delivery requirements.
  • Review programs with Business Manager on a monthly basis, to ensure PSA (Product Support Agreement), new program and regulation requirements are met.
  • Ensures coordination with Value Stream and MRO Coordinators to meet repair schedules to meet daily and weekly repair requirements.
  • Assists Value Stream Leader in attaining monthly shipment goals for MRO and communicates to management progress against the goal.
  • Physically pull and issue in SAP repair, components to all repair work orders in a timely manner to ensure PSA (Product Support Agreement) and customer TAT (Turn Around Time) or delivery dates are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Management preferred.
  • Prefer minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility in Supply chain, i.e. production control, capacity planning, and scheduling related functions.
  • Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
  • Daily management, process development and organizational development experience preferred.
  • Experience in balancing the management of day-to-day results with systematic problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and Powerpoint). SAP/MRP experience required.
  • Well versed in the use of MRP/ERP systems (MM/PP modules.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Required lifting weight: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequency: Daily. Must be able to work at the computer for prolonged periods of time. Frequently twist and bend.

  • Contribute to departmental development and improvement in metrics through the use of DBS tools and structural improvements.
  • Be able to work across departments, levels, functions, and vendors. Clean and organized work area shall be maintained at all times.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills. Willing to share knowledge and contribute to an engaged department.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep track of multiple priorities simultaneously. Operate in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Participate in a minimum of one (1) Kaizen per year.
  • MRO: Participant in the FAA Drug and Alcohol program.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency.
