Job Description
Project Manager

We have an outstanding leadership opportunity for a Project Manager serving our Project Management, Construction Management, and Owner's Representative business group in Salem and Southern Oregon. You will collaborate with a talented regional team to serve current marquis key clients and participate in business development opportunities as we expand our local lines of service.

Otak CPM is a leader in delivering project management, construction management and owner's representative services to both public agency and private industry clients across Oregon and Southwest Washington. We have a long and successful history of delivering excellent client service assisting our clients with high profile and challenging construction projects.

This role requires the ability to travel monthly to project sites in Salem and Southern Oregon.

What you'll do:

  • Plan and lead all aspects of pre-design, design, construction and post-occupancy phases including compliance with planned budget, schedule and scope/quality criteria.
  • Serve as a trusted client partner and provide value to projects through the implementation of strategic goals and initiatives
  • Develop consulting and construction contract scopes of work, solicitations and coordinate with client purchasing & contracting staff to effect awards.
  • Ensure compliance with client contracting policies and procedures for all assigned contracts and enforce contract provisions.
  • Manage stakeholder participation in design processes: proactively define their needs / interest and ensure incorporation into plans and actions
  • Perform project plan reviews to ensure incorporation of client requirements and identify potential constructability issues
  • Manage multi-disciplinary resources to deliver projects on schedule and budget and according to individual client critical success factors. This includes serving as primary point-of-contact with the Architecture / Engineering and General Contracting teams and coordinating between these entities and pertinent stakeholders from the owner team.
  • Communicate regularly with key client stakeholders and Project Team by maintaining and providing Project Status Reports, Risk and Issues Logs and Decision Matrix.
  • Collaborate and communicate readily with team members to surface potential project issues, uplevel collective team performance, and actively engage in active peer mentorship
  • Participate in client outreach, local/regional conferences and events, and proposal development / RFP responses to secure new scopes of work.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related area is preferred.
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience directly managing large capital projects from design through construction and closeout. Experience with public safety, justice and/or other major municipal work is highly preferred.
  • Professional registration in Architecture, Engineering or a related field in the State of Oregon, or certification as a Construction Manager and/or Project Manager is highly preferred.
  • The following certifications are preferred for this position: PMP and Associate DBIA or DBIA.
  • Knowledge of alternative forms of project delivery including CM/GC, GC/CM, CM at Risk, Design Build, and P3.
  • Experience with project management systems such as E-Builder, Procore, Primavera, Smartsheet, and SharePoint highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ORS279A, B & C.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start date.
