Senior Digital Marketing Specialist

Location/Division Specific Information
This position is within the Pharma Services Group. Thermo Fisher Scientific provides industry-leading pharma services solutions for drug development, clinical trial logistics and commercial manufacturing to customers through our Patheon brand. With more than 65 locations around the world, we provide integrated, end-to-end capabilities across all phases of development, including API, biologics, viral vectors, cGMP plasmids, formulation, clinical trials solutions, logistics services and commercial manufacturing and packaging.

Make an impact
The person who fills this role will manage the development and execution of digital tactics in Marketo. You will provide recommendations to increase client engagement, optimize lead generation, and drive new opportunities for the commercial organization. In addition, you will serve as an internal advisor to team members regarding system integrations, data governance, lead lifecycle management, lead score modeling, and digital asset design and implementation.

Ideal candidates will possess strong technical marketing automation skills and be eager to find ways to improve performance and efficiency. They enjoy developing deep knowledge of data and systems (Marketo, SFDC, Power BI, SQL), performing analysis and visualization of the data, translating information into actions. They establish and maintain strong communication and relationships with other teams and enjoy acting as a consultant and trusted subject-matter expert.

A Day in the Life

  • Work with the market development team to conceptualize, build, and launch digital programs in our marketing automation system to support overall demand generation targets.
  • Build strong partnerships through effective project management and communication.
  • Using historical performance and experimentation data, provide insightful feedback and recommendations to the downstream marketing teams to improve digital tactic performance related to conversion and lead generation.
  • Build and optimize digital program templates (email, nurture, advertising, events, etc.) and asset templates (emails, landing pages, forms and reports) within Marketo.
  • Assist with data governance and lead lifecycle management.
  • Make recommendations for process and technology improvements based on industry trends, innovation, and new solutions.
  • Help to develop our marketing data strategy, including managing our data integrations between marketing tools and optimizing data for effective and useful reporting.
  • Document marketing processes, programs and procedures for training purposes.
  • Collaborate with and request feedback from Pharma Services Inside Sales team.

Keys to success

  • Bachelor’s degree required.


  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience within digital marketing, sales operations, or related role.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and/or a marketing automation platform.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Certifications demonstrating proficiency in SFDC and/or Marketo are a plus.
