Administrative Coordinator, Project on Democracy and Capitalism The University of Virginia’s Miller Center seeks an ADMINSTRATIVE COORDINATOR for its Project on Democracy and Capitalism to support the Project and its related programming. This position supports the Project Facilitator in managing the Project’s operational workflow, including tracking agendas and budgetary data, meeting preparation, travel organization, and management of student and project data. A considerable part of this role will be events support, including coordination of invitations, outreach, tracking event budgets, event preparation, and day-of event support. Project events include workshops, public events, webinars, student events, and conferences. Some work outside of normal business hours will occasionally be required to support events. Organizational Background Established in 1975 through a generous gift from entrepreneur and philanthropist Burkett Miller, the Miller Center is a nonpartisan affiliate of the University of Virginia that specializes in presidential scholarship, public policy, and political history. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs. Additional Position Information Currently, the Miller Center is a hybrid working environment due to Covid-19 protocols. Upon the University’s and the Miller Center’s reevaluation of return to Grounds, the Miller Center will become primarily an in-person working environment, with occasional opportunities to work from home. This is a restricted position which extends through June 15, 2025. Renewal is possible, subject to performance, availability of funds, and need. This position will remain open until filled.
