Job Description
Jr. Software Developer Trainee (remote Washington DC area)
Primary Responsiblities:

· Generate, monitor, track, trend, and correct inaccuracies within the system to assure customer needs are met

· Write, edit, improve, test, and troubleshoot data entry scripts using QTP automation software or other tools as needed

· Analyze and define requirements for additional data entry automation tasks

· Test all data entry scripts and utilities to ensure that they meet requirements prior to being used in production

· Identify and correct issues within the system to ensure reports meet customer needs

· Run and manage automatic file importation and transfer processes via data entry automation software

· Monitor and verify completion of daily data entry automation tasks

· Participate in the Quality Management System control of documents

· Develop or assist in development of Assembler Language (ALC) software applications on a mainframe platform, and maintain modules of a well-established applications software program

· Participate on a team designing, developing, testing, and implementing software for less complex programs, such as modifying input forms

· Document customer business rules

· Develop flow diagrams and our pseudo-code

· Test and debug programs according to detailed requirements and submit completed applications software to the project lead

· Support the maintenance of existing applications software

· Perform other related duties as assigned

· Serve as the primary functional expert for data entry automation scripts and utilities
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

· Associate’s Degree (AS or AA with math curriculum) with a degree award date no later than May 2023

· Knowledge of, and skill in applying, basic IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to perform highly structured, entry-level work designed to develop broader and more in-depth knowledge and skill
needed to perform higher-level assignments

· Successful completion of at least one programming course in college (any language) OR software development certification, boot camp or continuing education provided through a professional organization

· Strong advanced math background demonstrated by grades in Calculus, Discrete Math, Differential Equations, etc., or ACT/SAT score

· Ability to communicate factual and procedure information clearly, verbally and in writing; and to gather and analyze basic facts and draw conclusions

· Ability to follow detailed and specific instructions and perform work as directed using specific and detailed guidelines

· Excellent attention to detail, time management, scheduling, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· Preferred field of studies: Computer Science, Mathematics, Music, Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) programs

· Experience in programming and testing applications in any computer language

Additional Requirements as per contract/client:

· Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI is a plus)

· Must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant
